My 2016 Book Fair Wishlist

So every Summer around July, there would be a book fair in Hong Kong and almost every year I lost control. I would go to the Book Fair for around 3-4 times (twice with my sister, once with my friends), anyways my point is I would buy a shitload of books and I possibly won’t read it. Just last year, I got like 27 books and only 10 that I actually finished. So I’m going to limit myself this year and maybe have a wishlist of what I’m buying this year. And just to let you know this list is pretty random and I honestly don’t know what I would buy and mostly I just have a brief concept of what I might get so…

1. The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan 26252859.jpg

I just need it so badly, Apollo is one of my favorite Olympians and Apollo is technically my ‘godly parent’ so…

2. Any YA Contemporary Romance

To be honest, I really don’t know what contemporary romance I would buy that day but I want something lovey dovey and perhaps a new fictional boyfriend (Perhaps something by Kasie West, I read a little bit of The Fill-In Boyfriend so maybe I would buy that)

3. Something by Sarah J Maas

I love Throne of Glass and I got Crown of Midnight but I still don’t have time to read it but I think I would either buy Heir of Fire or A Court of Thorns and Roses

4. Books that I need for Literature, Classical Civilisation and Film Studies next years

So usually in Book Fair, classics are really cheap compare to other YA or other novels (Last year they are around US$6 and £3 which is really cheap in Hong Kong)

And I think this is it right now (well obviously my book fair book haul would be wayyyyy bigger than this list) but I think this would be the basis of what I would get during the book fair. Anyway it’s 3am here in London so I am going to sleep now. xoxo

Update: 10 May 2016

Okay this is weird, I haven’t been blogging since forever. Is anyone still here? I was going to post something on New Year Eve, I was going to post around my birthday and I just won’t have time to actually write something (there is like 20 something drafts that I just forgot about) and because of my classes I just don’t have time to actually read a novel but I have been reading a lots of comic books, so that’s a good thing. Maybe I will write something about comic books?

Anyway, my exam starts on 17 May and all my exam will end on 6 June so after my exams I will go to Foyles and Forbidden Planet to buy some late birthday gift for myself. When I go back to Hong Kong, Book Fair is coming up, so I got more time to catch with books and TV shows, and I will have time and materials to post something.

Updates: 14 November 2015

I’m back for another updates, maybe you are excepting a book related post. But sorry to disappoint you 😛 but I’m reading now not much but I’m reading again. And hoping can reach my goal by the end of the year. And let’s pray for Paris and Japan before I started this update

  • Currently Reading: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and The Iliad by Homer
  • I had changed from Biology to Film Studies which I’m loving it so far
  • I still have less than a month before I go back to Hong Kong ❤ (But I will be back in London in January)
  • Hopefully I will finish The Song of Achilles tomorrow or Monday, then I will have a review for it

Reasons why I disappear for over 2 weeks…

I’m back for a while, school is killing me and I need a cup of coffee almost everyday to stay alive (I normally  don’t drink coffee on daily basis) that prove how tried I’m right now. Biology is just horrible, I thinking dropping it. I don’t even care about Biology anymore, I’m not doing anything Biology related in Uni. (I’m thinking to do English Lit and Creative Writing in Uni so Biology isn’t really need) But I don’t know what subject I could do if I don’t do Biology, I want to Photography at first but it clashes my timetable. Now I’m really stress out because of all this mess I’m going through (If anyone have any idea what subject I could do should comment down below) I don’t even have time to read and to do other stuff. In my school, we have exams/quizzes almost every week, so I’m really stressed and tired because of school. In October, I had only finished one book and I think I’m in a reading slumps again. Even if I have time, I will found myself spending hours of watching YouTube. I miss reading, I really do. But right now I just need to focus on studying, I was planning to do the Creatures of the Night tag before Halloween and now I have completely forgot about it. If I have time, I will come back to reading and blogging.

My English Presentation? 1984 by George Orwell

So I’m alive, since it’s summer so I am spend my holiday watching Teen Wolf, Jane the Virgin, Glee etc. And if you are friend with me on GoodReads, you would know I only read one books and I am sort of in a reading slump. Since I am not reading much, I can’t do book review. But everything would be back on track this week (hopefully), so what I’m posting/writing below is my draft for English presenation and my topic is YA dystopian and Classic dystopian. Since it’s a draft like a really rough daft , there are grammar, spelling error (and I’m too lazy to correct any of those and I just copy and paste the whole draft here so…) but I think it’s still readable. Can I call this a review cause it’s sort of is a review but it’s not a review (no, this is not make any sense) anyway without further ado; this is my English Presenation on 1984 by George Orwell

Dystopia come from the word ‘Utopia” and the word “Utopia” come from Greek which means no place or good place. Adding “Dys” to “Utopia” created the word “Dystopia”, “dys” meaning bad, combine the two words the word “Dystopia” meaning bad place. Utopia is ideal world, where in an Utopia there are a peaceful government and equality for citizens such as Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and the Giver by Lois Lowry. Dystopia is world with a controlling government like 1984 by Gerorge Orwell or even in no government suitation like Lord of the Flies by William Golding. A dystopia world could also have a huge income gaps between rich and poor like Districts 1 and Districts 12 in Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, indenpentent thought are banned such as thoughtcrime in 1984 Continue reading
