Updates: 14 November 2015

I’m back for another updates, maybe you are excepting a book related post. But sorry to disappoint you 😛 but I’m reading now not much but I’m reading again. And hoping can reach my goal by the end of the year. And let’s pray for Paris and Japan before I started this update

  • Currently Reading: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and The Iliad by Homer
  • I had changed from Biology to Film Studies which I’m loving it so far
  • I still have less than a month before I go back to Hong Kong ❤ (But I will be back in London in January)
  • Hopefully I will finish The Song of Achilles tomorrow or Monday, then I will have a review for it

Reasons why I disappear for over 2 weeks…

I’m back for a while, school is killing me and I need a cup of coffee almost everyday to stay alive (I normally  don’t drink coffee on daily basis) that prove how tried I’m right now. Biology is just horrible, I thinking dropping it. I don’t even care about Biology anymore, I’m not doing anything Biology related in Uni. (I’m thinking to do English Lit and Creative Writing in Uni so Biology isn’t really need) But I don’t know what subject I could do if I don’t do Biology, I want to Photography at first but it clashes my timetable. Now I’m really stress out because of all this mess I’m going through (If anyone have any idea what subject I could do should comment down below) I don’t even have time to read and to do other stuff. In my school, we have exams/quizzes almost every week, so I’m really stressed and tired because of school. In October, I had only finished one book and I think I’m in a reading slumps again. Even if I have time, I will found myself spending hours of watching YouTube. I miss reading, I really do. But right now I just need to focus on studying, I was planning to do the Creatures of the Night tag before Halloween and now I have completely forgot about it. If I have time, I will come back to reading and blogging.

Books I need to read for school this year

On one of my post, I mentioned I will be doing A-Levels this year and school just started for a week and I think it’s time for me to do a little update. I’m taking English Literature, Psychology, Biology and Classical Civillsation, which means a lots of reading for me this year. So without further ado this is the list of books I will be reading this school year.

English Literature

Poems of the Decade: An Anthology of the Forward Books of Poetry, 2002-201113150556
Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett

The War of the Worlds  by H.G Wells13614257
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood38447

Classical Civillsation

The Iliad by Homer 437433

giphyI’m really looking forward to read The Iliad, I had watched the film Troy which is epic and I can’t wait to read The Iliad

Unpopular Opinions Book Tags

I first saw this tag on Youtube, and Icy on Nerd of Book had also did this. And most importantly I have nothing to do (actually I should be packing but…) Anyway let’s get into it

1. A Popular Books or Series I didn’t like

I was to check GoodReads to see which books have the lowest rating and I found out I rarely rated any books lower than 2 stars (I am too nice sometime) I have a few book and series that I didn’t like that most or I DNF it, I’m gonna to copy Icy’s formate of this tag cause that looks more neat and easily to explain

For example: We were Liars by E.Lockhart 16143347

Everyone was likegiphyAnd I am bored and I almost do this (of course I didn’t do that, it’s a library book, I can’t do this to any books) 760050

Hong Kong Book Fair Book Haul 2015

Every summer here in Hong Kong. Publisher, book seller and reader gathered in one of the biggest bookish event. The Hong Kong Book Fair is like Book Con in the US only without the part where publishers give out free books and ARC but Book Fair is still pretty awesome. Basically you can buy books from manga and graphic novels to YA and classic novels in Hong Kong Book Fair, they also have a section for stationary, well for me I spent three days at the book fair. Before I go book fair, my mom told me not to buy too many because I can’t carry all of my books to England but somehow I still bought twenty something books #sorrynotsorry. Okay, enough of my boring backstory. Let’s move on to the book haul now, shall we?

YA and Middle Grade I don’t even know why I bought this book? I read the synopsis and i think this would be one of those funny book and I haven’t read any thing like that so… but YOLO right?   I remember some booktubers talked about Reboot and Rebel before and my friend and I bought this together so we might do a read-along sometime

I read the first three in the series and I love it, so why not pick the the fourth book P.S the thrid book have a cliffhanger. And Chris Colfer is beaI love the TV series so I need to get this book

I read 1984 by George Owrell back in late May or something, and Brave New World, We and 1984 are like the classic dystopia novel. And I just need to buy it because reasons…
Okay, I’m obsessed with Little Black Classic… I read War of the Worlds before and I got The Invisible Man and The Time Machine the day before and why not have an extra copy of War of the Worlds and complete my H.G Wells collection?!
I don’t have anymore excuse, I’m a shopaholic and a bookaholic and I’m not proud myself now I’m on book buying ban until Christmas *sigh*

This is my final Book Fair book haul, 27 books in total. How this happened? I don’t know. If you need me, I will be at my bookshelf staring my growing tbr pile 🙈🙊🙉
